6 Nov 2004 - Brock is temporarily withdrawn from service

Brock steamed for the last time during August prior to its boiler service.

The engine was dismantled by the Children at Hoyland Down Workshops. An ultrasonic boiler examination has been done, proving favorable.
The boiler will be removed from the locomotive frames in order to have its tubes removed. This is a mandatory requirement that all steam locomotives must undergo every 10 years.

Forecast: Depending on the work required to be done on both the boiler and the rest of the locomotive, no fixed date has been set to return Brock to full service.
